Abstract	Numerous graphene-based materials as well as other inorganic or organic graphene analogues with 2D structures have been developed, bringing about new breakthroughs in materials science. The unique 2D structures promise an ideal platform for developing new-generation materials with interesting properties and applications. Catalysis research has been greatly facilitated along with the development of the 2D materials, leading to discovery of the catalysts with high activity and selectivity. Authors review recent research advancements for 2D nanostructures in catalytic applications including photocatalytic, electrocatalytic, and catalytic organic systems.
