Abstract
|
Top of
Line Corrosion (TLC) was attributed to water condensation
in wet acid gas lines. Operating below the dew point allows water
condensation followed by acidic corrosion after short run in operations.
Researchers examined the effect of gas composition, operating regimes,
temperature, pressure, pH and thermal insulation. They describe an actual TLC
in wet gas line, indicating how line corrosion was detected, metallurgical
investigation, repair procedure and the recommendations to avoid recurrence
of such corrosion in future.
