Water
Quality Evaluation for Selected Places in the Daura Refinery
Dr.Adel Sharif Hamadi*
Abstract
Describes
an environmental evaluation of the water quality used in the Daura refinery. An
overall survey throughout the period of the study resulted in the recognition
of potential sources of contamination from the refinery, loading and
maintenance operations.
A monitoring well was dug in the most polluted location to check for
water quality. A sampling plan was made to evaluation the various used water
including process water, treated wastewater, rain water, drinking water and
ground water. Samples collection was
accompanied by the use of Global site system, GPS for documentation process.
Samples were prepared for the determination of hydrocarbon groups and indicator
compounds using extraction procedures. During the evaluation of water quality,
samples were collected from the final effluent of the waste water treatment
plant. Results of the analysis indicate
that the average wastewater quality is in agreement with the valid
environmental imitations.
