Abstract
This paper presents efficient and environmental parameters of spark ignition engine powered by compressed natural gas and hydrogen blends while the advanced ignition angle is being changed. Also exhaust gas recirculation intensity alteration was taken into research. Overview of researches revealed that hydrogen as additive in compressed natural gases increases combustion speed and efficiency of blend, however due to increased combustion temperature the concentration of nitrous oxides also becomes higher in exhaust gases.
In order to improve engine performance parameters, a complex optimization of engine adjustable parameters must be done. One of the major engine management parameters – the ignition advanced angle. The research object – bus “MAN Lion’s City”. The research was done by numerical simulation software “Diesel-RK”. Approximation method revealed that advanced ignition angle influence on NOX concentration in exhaust gases, on fuel consumptions and on engine power. According to obtained results it was determine the ways how to improve engine efficient and environmental parameters.
