Abstract
Discusses the permeability modulation of
Supported Magnetic Ionic Liquid Membranes (SMILMs) for CO2
separation, when applying an external magnetic field. Researchers examined four
magnetic ionic liquids (MILs), ([P66614][CoCl4], [P66614][FeCl4],
[P66614][MnCl4] and [P66614][GdCl6]),
in combination with a commercial hydrophobic PVDF porous support.
They conducted an experimental evaluation of
membrane permeability for CO2, N2 and air. They also
investigated the influence of the magnetic field on MILs viscosity, in order to
establish the relationship between permeability and viscosity depending on the
external magnetic field.
