Abstract
Addresses the case of the multicomponent distillation of methanol in a petrochemical industry in operation in Puebla, Mexico, with a process synthesis approach that uses a superstructure containing all possible combinations in which the elements can be separated from the mixture.
Researchers employ actual data from sequence of the current distillation columns, combining them with the data obtained from HYSYS simulation. This superstructure contains the actual data for the option that is currently in operation and the data obtained with simulation for options that have not been implemented.
